On June 1st, 2022, Robert van Beemen will join DRB as a partner. With Robert’s arrival, DRB will further develop and expand its Strategy practice.

Robert has years of experience in strategy development for law firms. He advises boutique and mid-size firms on (international) trends and developments, international (referral) strategies, and ESG, and its impact on the business and governance model.

Regarding his move to DRB he says: “The developments regarding for example ESG have a major impact on the strategic choices and priorities of many of DRB’s clients. These developments not only determine how law firms position themselves towards their clients, but increasingly also towards talent.

Stephan Bamborough: “What we’re seeing more and more in recent years is that the markets of executive search and strategic advice for the legal profession are growing towards each other. With the arrival of Robert, I expect that we will be able to serve our clients and relations even better because, for example, we will be able to think along on a more strategic level about the expansion of teams.

Robert has worked in professional and legal services for over 15 years. He was an attorney at VanEps in Curacao, bankruptcy trustee in the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy, and for the past 8 years he has been associated with Venturis Consulting Group, of which the last 5 years as a partner. Robert is an officer of the Law Firm Management Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA), and active in the Association of International Young Lawyers (AIJA). He studied law in Utrecht and is an alumni of the Rotterdam School of Management.

This month, Globe Law and Business will publish Roberts’ book on ESG: Building the Sustainable Law Firm: Developing and Implementing an ESG Strategy, which he co-authored with his Venturis partner Sophie Boyer Chammard.
